My name is AL Curry, and I am a Clinical Pharmacist licensed in GA, FL, NC, and OH. I was a patient of Dr. David Neckman, Pain Medicine at Alliance Spine and Pain, 5303 Adams Street, Suite C, Covington, GA 30014. Before you make an appointment to see Dr. David Neckman, you need to read how he treated me as a patient with severe Lumbar Spine pain. My review is very long, but you need to read it before making an appointment to see Dr. Neckman.
On July 9, 2025, Dr. Neckman installed an Abbott Proclaim XR 5 Spinal Cord Stimulator. On August 12, I started seeing redness and pus on the incision. I immediately called his office. I was instructed to go to Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton, GA, for Blood Cultures. No growth was found after 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, and 5 days. On 8.13.25, he had me come to his office in Covington for a GRAM STAIN and AEROBIC BACTERIAL CULTURE because of the type of swab that Dr. Neckman used. The two tests were not performed because the type of swab Labcorp received was not suitable for the testing required.
On 9.15.25, Dr. Neckman had me come to his office in Conyers so he could look at my incision. He E prescribed to my pharmacy Cleocin 300 mg, take 3 capsules three times daily. He wanted to remove the spinal cord stimulator that day because the battery was exposed, and he assumed, without doing labs, that I had an infection in my bloodstream.
He couldn’t remove the SCS because I had eaten. He scheduled my Spinal Cord Stimulator to be removed on 9.17.25 without having any lab work, saying that I had an infection in my bloodstream; he just assumed the infection was there. During my surgery he did these labs: GRAM STAIN, AEROBIC BACTERIAL CULTURE. After my surgery, Dr. Neckman asked me what pain medication he E prescribed to my pharmacy when he installed my SCS I said Percocet 10, but it was too strong. He said he would E prescribe Norco 5 to my Pharmacy. When we got the the pharmacy, he hadn’t E prescribed my Norco 5 and was in excruciating pain all night long. The next morning, I called his office and Dr. Neckman E prescribed it to my pharmacy around 10 AM.
Dr. Neckman instructed my wife to change my dressing twice daily and saturate the gauze with Sodium Chloride 0.9% for Irrigation and for me to buy lots of it because I would be on it for 6 months. I bought from Amazon 2000 ml ($31.57) and 1000 ml ($15.50) Sodium Chloride 0.9% for Irrigation for a total of $50.36.
He referred me to see an Infectious Disease Doctor in Macon at Piedmont North at my request. I found this doctor. He wanted me to go to Piedmont in Atlanta, but that was a three-hour drive.
On 9.22.25, Dr Neckman E prescribed Bactrim DS to my pharmacy Bactrim DS. When I looked at the results of my CULTURES that were done on 9.17.25, the results were reported on 9.23.25. I noticed that the Bactrim DS was Resistant and ineffective against the PSEUDOMONAS PUTIDA. I immediately sent a message through my portal to his nurse after she contacted Dr Neckman. He had me stop taking the Bactrim DS.
Dr. Neckman said when I saw the Infectious Disease Doctor, to be prepared to stay in the hospital for several weeks because I would be receiving Intravenous Antibiotics.
On 10.9.25, I saw an Infectious Disease Doctor at Piedmont North in Macon, GA. After the doctor examined me, he said I had a SUPERFICAL SKIN INFECTION, that the Pseudomonas wasn’t in my bloodstream, and that he could treat me as an outpatient. The doctor instructed my wife to continue simple wound care, daily loose wound packing with Iodophor gauze. The doctor said that using too much Sodium Chloride 0.9% Irrigation would increase the chance of organisms. He also said I had contact dermatitis. The infectious doctor said the Cleocin was ineffective in treating the Pseudomonas and should have never been prescribed.
As a clinical pharmacist, I personally think Dr. Neckman should have referred me to the Infectious Disease Doctor before removing my Spinal Cord Stimulator, and after what I know now, my Spinal Cord Stimulator wouldn’t have had to be removed. It proves to me that Dr. Neckman doesn’t know what he is doing.
When I saw Dr. Neckman for my follow-up appointment after the removal of my Spinal Cord Stimulator. I asked him what I was supposed to do for my Lumbar Spine pain. He replied There’s nothing more I can do for you. You will have to take what you were taking previously before you saw me, the Tylenol and Voltaren gel. Now I am stuck with a $690 co-pay.
Alliance Spine and Pain Center “mission” statement is to provide interventional pain management with the highest quality of patient care, enabling patients to live fuller, more functional, and fulfilling lives.
After seeing Dr. Neckman, now I am in excruciating pain, and my pain level is around a 10; it’s worse than my first appointment with Dr. Neckman. When I sit down for over an hour, I can barely walk. I am in lots of pain when I bend over to brush my teeth or wash my hands. When I stand up, I can hardly straighten up. I didn’t receive the highest quality of patient care, enabling me to live a fuller, more functional, and fulfilling life. Now I have to find another pain management doctor.
Before you make an appointment to see Dr David Neckman, just remember what happened to me.
