Shahnaz Bari, M.D.

Shahnaz Bari, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist at two of the Alliance Spine & Pain locations in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Bari also holds certification in internal medicine and treats adults of all ages with personalized care. 

Dr. Bari graduated from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan. After completing her education, she pursued further training, completing internships in internal medicine and genitourinary surgery at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center and Dow Medical College. 

In addition, Dr. Bari has completed specialized training in anesthesiology at the Medical College of Georgia, internal medicine at Prince George’s Hospital, as well as cardiac anesthesia at the University of Alabama. She also completed fellowships in pain medicine at California State University, Sacramento, and regional anesthesia at the Virginia Mason Medical Center. 

She has over 31 years of experience in medicine and received extensive training in pain conditions, allowing her to provide comprehensive treatment to fulfill your wellness needs. 

Prior to joining Alliance Spine & Pain, Dr. Bari owned her own practice for 10 years. She's held a variety of positions during her career, including assistant professor in anesthesiology at the Medical College of Georgia and Emory Healthcare. 

Her professional memberships include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
