Dr. Scott Masson Is Now Offering Superion Vertiflex Procedure

Alliance Spine and Pain Centers is excited to announce that Dr. Scott Masson now performs the Superion Vertiflex procedure as a treatment option for his patients. Superion Vertiflex is a minimally invasive front-line treatment option for stenosis patients that is essentially an indirect spinal decompression. It gives patients the opportunity to live a more functional life. Alliance Spine and Pain Centers Adds New Physician to Roster

Alliance Spine and Pain Centers, leaders in the future of pain relief, continue offering patients a stable of best-in-class physicians. The latest addition to the team is Dr. Scott Masson, now practicing at the Brookhaven, Douglasville, Piedmont/Atlanta, and Roswell locations.

As the largest interventional pain management company in the Southeast, Alliance Spine and Pain Centers provides patients with a variety of physician options at convenient locations, many located near local medical facilities.

“Pain management entails everything I love about medicine,” says Dr. Masson. “It’s rewarding, challenging, and presents an opportunity to contribute to improving some of our nation’s biggest healthcare needs.”

Dr. Masson specializes in spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, minimally invasive spine procedures, intrathecal pumps, the Intracept Procedure, and more. He’s board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine.

He received his medical degree from Midwestern University and completed his residency at Oakland University William Beaumont Hospital. For his fellowship, Dr. Masson served as the chief interventional pain management fellow at Case Western Reserve University.

Pain management entails everything I love about medicine. It’s rewarding and challenging. It also presents an opportunity to contribute to improving some of our nation’s biggest healthcare needs.

What Are the Biggest Challenges of This field of Medicine?

As the field has progressed, the options for treating pain are seemingly endless. The challenge of pain management is tying together the patient’s individual situation with the many therapies available. I find the best way to do this is simple: take the time to listen and get to know your patient.

What’s the Most Rewarding Part of Your Job?

Pain can be frustrating, emotionally draining, even all-encompassing. The best part of my job is helping to relieve patients from the burden of a life in chronic pain. I love the excitement a patient gets from effective therapy.

What Are Your Favorite Past-Times?

I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, hockey, playing guitar, and hiking.
